La La Land Wins Best Picture, 6 other Phoenix Film Critics Society 2016 Awards

 Phoenix Film Critics Society has announced its 2016 award winners.  "La La Land," which led the field in nominations, has also garnered the most wins, with 7, including Best Picture, Best Actress for Emma Stone, and Best Director for Damien Chazelle. "Hell or High Water" came in second with three awards, while "Hacksaw Ridge" won two. These are the 17th annual awards for the PFCS. "La La Land's producers have much to sing about as our membership responded to this 21st century musical romance,” said PFCS president Gayle Bass.

Phoenix (December 13, 2016) The 2016 nominations for the Phoenix Film Critics Society’s annual awards have been announced. "La La Land" led the field with 13 nominations, including best film, best director, best original screenplay and lead acting nominations for Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone. "Moonlight" garnered 9 nominations including best film and best director, while "Manchester by the Sea" and "Hacksaw Ridge" tied for 8 nominations each. The ten films nominated for best picture are: "A Monster Calls," "Arrival," "Florence Foster Jenkins," "Hacksaw Ridge," "Hell or High Water," "La La Land," "Manchester By The Sea," "Moonlight," "Nocturnal Animals" and "Sing Street." The nominees for Best Actor in a Leading Role are Andrew Garfield for "Hacksaw Ridge," Casey Affleck in "Manchester By The Sea," Denzel Washing
